Message from our President
I really look forward to this year. Perhaps my second time as President will be better than the first time. I do know there is no way I can do all the many things that our Miss Lillie does so graciously. She is a very hard act to follow. We do owe her many thanks.
At the Fredericksburg rally we had an informal meeting to discuss the plans for 2008. A discussion has been ongoing for some time now within the three Texas units (West Texas, Texas Plains and Top of Texas) that we need to do something to address the fact that all are facing a decline in membership and that is limiting our activities. It was suggested and decided that the three Presidents would co-ordinate the April and May Rallies so that they would be joint rallies. This would give all of us a chance to look more closely at the advantages and disadvantages of forming a single unit. The discussion was very much aware that there is real concern about keeping monthly or weekly activities in place so that those members that are not traveling could continues to participate. I do want all of us to participate in this important discussion. Remember THIS IS JUST BEING DISCUSSED so all are invited to join in. We need input. Your ideas and suggestion as well as your feelings and thought are important.
Bambi and I will not be at the dinner on January 8th at Cattleman’s Restaurant. I have made reservation for us to have the back room. So y’all have fun!
We do have reservations for the Valentine party on February 12th at Murray’s. It is on Wadley in Midland.
I will need a count for the attendance at Region. Please let me know by February 15th.
I will try to do my best to make it a fun filled year (or to quote a famous cableman – Get U Done).
